“I was introduced to Phil O’Connor by my accountant at a time when a pension scheme was thought to be ready to be used for annuity purchase. I was very impressed with Phil’s style of approach at a joint meeting with my accountant and after subsequent meetings with Phil in his own office my wife and I have acted on his advice and have avoided making what could have proved to be a very significant financial mistake in the protection of my wife’s financial welfare. Phil’s expert assessment of our requirements and identifying our attitudes towards financial planning have impressed us so much that we have asked him to provide further advice for our daughter’s plans for pension provision and we have no hesitation in thoroughly recommending him to other colleagues looking for financial advice.”

“For the first time since dealing with a succession of financial advisers, I have complete confidence in Phil’s advice and do not feel, as previously, that I am part of an adviser’s milk round. Thank you”
Dr IA McKinlay, Salford
Informed and dependable advice is crucial to busy people who have no knowledge of the advantages and disadvantages of the wide range of financial products currently available. It is increasingly important to plan with confidence for the future so that hard earned rewards are not unnecessarily squandered by bad judgement. Phil has been my financial adviser for over 2 years. He passes with 3 ‘A’ s – he is affable, available and able. The advice that he has given has been expressed clearly both verbally and in writing. This has been given tactfully and with due patience ! He is scrupulously honest. Many fields of life have become specialist areas. Look no further for your Financial advisor – he is a specialist in his own field and worth having as an advisor to guide you through the turbulent monetary environment that we find ourselves in . I recommend him to you as indeed I recommend him to my friends and family.
John Williams MD, FRCP. Consultant Physician, Runcorn, Cheshire.
Phil O’Connor has acted as my Financial Adviser and my wife and I were so impressed that he now has both my daughter and son as clients.
He can be strongly recommended for skilled, helpful and totally impartial advice and his particular knowledge in regard to the needs of doctors and their families has been most useful. Meetings with him are unhurried and his written advice is clear and understandable. Importantly, he is a person of great integrity and his recommendations are carefully tailored to individual needs.
I can recommend him without reservation.

We have known Phil O’Connor for approximately 3 years as an independent financial advisor. We were initially introduced to him at Baker Tilly Financial Services Limited and were sufficiently impressed with his approach, advice and professionalism to follow him when he moved to HW Financial Services Limited in Manchester and again when he set up his own company, Whitewell Financial Planning Limited in late 2008.
Phil has given as much time as necessary to get to know us and our opinions about money, risk and investment. As a result he has been able to advise us in the most appropriate way – no easy task when faced with two people with very different attitudes to risk. His advice includes much sound financial common sense but where the course of action is less clear cut, he has been able to guide us with tact and diplomacy to the decision with which we feel most comfortable. He does this with a very pleasant manner using humour when appropriate and a more directive approach when necessary.
Phil maintains regular contact, keeping us fully informed and confirming decisions and meeting dates by letter or email, whichever is the most appropriate. He is also easy to contact by phone when necessary. He uses up-to-date computer software to assess attitudes to risk and to develop financial plans. Phil lays out his fees clearly before undertaking any work.
We have no hesitation in recommending Phil O’Connor as an Independent Financial Advisor.

Without Phil`s timely advice I would be a much poorer man, and in the current climate, such advice is even more valuable.
Mr AJ Banks, Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon, Bolton.
We were in need of help in our Financial Situation; we are both retired. Mr. Phil O’Connor was recommended to us and we met at a most inauspicious time – the start of the recession. His help has been invaluable. Paper work has decreased. We have clearer defined objectives and both feel more confident in facing the future. His advice has been sound, objective and readily available.
